Customer Awareness Week, Chattogram-2025 of Bangladesh Bank, commenced in Cox’s Bazar with the aim of enhancing banking awareness among customers, according to a press release.

Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, Mr. Md. Niamul Kabir, attended the inauguration ceremony as the Chief Guest. The event, held on 13 December 2025 in Cox’s Bazar, was organized by the Financial Integrity and Customer Services Department of Bangladesh Bank in association with Bank Asia PLC.

Bangladesh Bank’s Executive Director Mr. Md. Mokbul Hossain, Director of the Financial Integrity and Customer Services Department Mr. Muhammad Mohsin Hossaini, and Deputy Managing Director of Bank Asia Mr. Mirza Azhar Ahmad were present as Special Guests. The program was presided over by Mr. Munir Ahmed Chowdhury, Director of the Financial Integrity and Customer Services Department, Bangladesh Bank. The welcome address was delivered by Mr. Mohammad Mahenur Alam, Additional Director of the Financial Integrity and Customer Services Department and Head of the Strategic Communication Team.

The Chief Guest, in his remarks, mentioned that customers are the lifeblood of banking services. He emphasized that, alongside bankers, customer awareness is equally important for the proper execution of banking operations. Therefore, he urged bankers to remain vigilant in ensuring quality customer service and to take more responsible initiatives to raise awareness among customers.

In addition to the key discussions by the distinguished guests, the event featured awareness-oriented presentations and audiovisual on various aspects of banking services. The program also highlighted Bangladesh Bank’s ongoing initiatives to enhance customer awareness. More than 120 officials from different banks and financial institutions across the Chattogram division attended the event. Bangladesh Bank announced that a series of awareness activities and programs will be conducted throughout the week to encourage customers to practice safe and informed banking.
