Dhaka Bank signs two participation agreements with Bangladesh Bank

Dhaka Bank PLC has recently signed two participation agreements with Bangladesh Bank (BB) for providing credit guarantees to women entrepreneurs under the Tk 30 billion (Tk 3,000 crore) refinance scheme and guarantee facilities for the agro-product processing sector under the Tk 14 billion (Tk 1,400 crore) refinance scheme.

The signing ceremony was held at the head office of Bangladesh Bank in Dhaka city, says a media statement Tuesday.

The agreements aim to assist the eligible cottage, micro and small-sized women enterprises (WEs) who do not have sufficient collateral security to avail loan/investment facility from the PFIs and to assist the eligible cottage, micro, small and medium-sized agro-processing enterprises (AgroEs) who do not have sufficient collateral security to avail loan/investment facility from the PFIs.

Mr Emranul Huq, Managing Director and CEO of Dhaka Bank PLC and Ms Nahid Rahman, Director, CGD, Bangladesh Bank signed the two agreements on behalf of their respective organisations.

Ms Nurun Nahar, Deputy Governor, Bangladesh Bank, Mr Md Jamal Uddin, Executive Director, BB; and Mr Md Mahbubur Rahman Palash, Executive Vice President and Head of MSME and Emerging Business Division, Dhaka Bank and other senior officials of the central bank were present during the signing ceremony.
