Mr Sheikh Mohammad Maroof, a veteran banker with almost three decades of versatile experience in the banking industry, joins Dhaka Bank as Managing Director. Prior to this, he served as Additional Managing Director and Chief Business Officer at The City Bank, says a press release.
Mr Maroof’s multi-skilled experience encompasses working as Deputy Managing Director, Head of Wholesale Banking, Executive Vice President and Head of Treasury in his previous companies that resulted in transforming every company he worked into a trusted brand.
He started his career in 1995 as a Management Trainee in American Express Bank and since then has embarked his footsteps in Corporate, Treasury, Retail, Cards, Market Risk, Transactional Banking, Wholesale Banking, Micro Financing, Trade Financing. He has also played significant roles in bringing forth derivative products, developing foreign exchange market, money market, merger and acquisition, advisory services, structured finance transactions and offshore banking business in Bangladesh.
Mr Sheikh Mohammad Maroof obtained his Post-Graduation in Finance from the University of Dhaka. Throughout his career he attended various Banking professional programs, training, seminars both at home and abroad mainly USA, Germany, London, Ireland, Dubai, Netherlands, Luxembourg, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Pakistan, Mumbai, etc. He is a “Certified Corporate Banker” and a fellow of the American Express Bank.
