Dhaka Regency hosts culinary heritage festival to celebrate traditional Bangladeshi cuisine

Dhaka Regency Hotel & Resort is hosting a special culinary event, "The Local Culinary Heritage of Bangladesh," from 9 to 19 October 2024, showcasing traditional dishes from across the country.

The event, which aims to highlight the rich and diverse flavours of Bangladeshi cuisine, was inaugurated with a cake cutting ceremony attended by Justice Moyeenul Islam Chowdhury, chairman of Dhaka Regency, and Shahid Hamid FIH, executive director and managing director (CC), along with distinguished guests from various embassies and airlines, said a press release. 

The festival will feature a variety of authentic regional dishes prepared by renowned local chefs. Guests can enjoy delicacies such as biriyani cooked in bamboo stalks, choijhal gosht, shatkora chicken, koi paturi, as well as vegetarian options like dal with drumstick shoots, bamboo shoot curry, and laukhatta. Traditional desserts, including lesser-known regional cakes, will also be featured.

Shahid Hamid FIH expressed the hotel's commitment to preserving Bangladesh's culinary heritage, stating, "We believe in the importance of promoting local cuisine and offering our guests a chance to experience the flavours that define our cultural identity."
