The month-long 30th Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) 2026 will begin at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre in Purbachal on Thursday (January 1, 2026).
Commerce Secretary Mahbubur Rahman disclosed the information at a press briefing at the venue on Monday (December 29, 2025). Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus is expected to inaugurate the fair.
Mr Rahman said the fair will feature 324 pavilions and stalls showcasing a wide range of products, including textiles, machinery, carpets, cosmetics, electronics, furniture, handicrafts and food items. Special zones have been set up for women entrepreneurs, persons with disabilities and cottage industries, along with dedicated sections for electronics and furniture.
He said online e-ticketing and on-site ticket purchases through QR code scanning will be available. Dedicated BRTC shuttle buses and discounted Pathao rides will operate from key locations, including Kuril, Farmgate, Narayanganj and Narsingdi.
Ticket prices have been set at Tk 50 for adults and Tk 25 for children under 12, while freedom fighters, persons with disabilities and victims of the July 2024 movement will be allowed free entry upon showing valid ID cards.
Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) sources said the fair will feature themed attractions such as Bangladesh Square, highlighting the Language Movement of 1952, the Liberation War and the July 2024 movement. Recreational facilities will include two children’s parks, seating for senior citizens, cultural centres and open-air stages for seminars and performances.
Mr Rahman said the fair will follow strict environmental guidelines, including a ban on polythene and single-use plastics, with eco-friendly shopping bags available at subsidised rates. Security arrangements will involve police, RAB, armed forces, private security personnel, CCTV surveillance, metal detectors and a standby fire brigade.
Health and hygiene measures will include medical facilities, separate toilets for men and women, more than 200 sanitation staff and daily mobile courts to ensure food safety. Visitors will also have access to cafeterias, restaurants and extensive parking facilities, including a multi-storey car park for over 500 vehicles.
The EPB said this is the fifth consecutive year the fair is being held in Purbachal. The event aims to promote domestic products, boost exports and generate employment.
The fair will remain open daily from 9:55am to 9:50pm, with extended hours until 10:00pm on weekends.
