Dozen IOCs attend Bangladesh offshore bidding round seminar

Around a dozen international oil companies (IOCs) including American Chevron, and ExxonMobil, Chinese CNOOC, and Italian ENI, took part in a promotional seminar on "Bangladesh Offshore Bidding Round 2024," at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital on Wednesday.

 

State-run Petrobangla organised the seminar to share the incentives it's offering to the IOCs to participate in the bidding round.

 

A total of 24 offshore blocks, 15 in deep water, and nine in shallow water have been offered in the bidding round, scheduled to close on September 9.

 

Dr Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, adviser to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, and Nasrul Hamid, State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, were present as the chief guest and special guest, respectively, at the seminar.
