Eastern Bank hosts financial literacy program in Narsingdi

Eastern Bank PLC (EBL) as the lead bank hosted a financial literacy and open cheque distribution program at the Royal Palace Convention Hall in Narsingdi on November 12.

This event was organised as part of Bangladesh Bank’s Financial Literacy Program, according to a media release. 

A total of 15 cheques were distributed to selected beneficiaries from various banks, underscoring the industry’s commitment to empowering individuals through financial access.

The program was attended by 26 bank managers and representatives, along with 150 invited guests, all joining to support the mission of financial education and responsible banking.

Md. Iqbal Mohasin, Director, Financial Inclusion Department of Bangladesh Bank, was the chief guest on the occasion and shared valuable insights and guidance on financial literacy.

M. Khorshed Anowar, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Retail and SME Banking at EBL was the special guest of the event.

Md. Masum Rana, AGM of Sonali Bank and Sharfuddin Mozaffar Ali, Head of Agent Banking and Financial Literacy Wing at EBL, spoke on the importance of financial literacy to equip people with knowledge so they could make informed financial decisions.
