EBL launches social currency app based prepaid card

Eastern Bank (EBL) brings Bangladesh’s first social currency card- FlexEM prepaid card, with the support from The Yours Truly Private Limited.

The new card is designed to empower social media users, who will be able to earn social media currency(points) simply by tagging and mentioning their favourite brands on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. The earned currency can be redeemed for shopping and other rewards, according to a media release. 

Social media users with certain followers and a “Creator Vibe” will be able to download the FlexEM app, apply and receive a prepaid card. FlexEM is powered by Eastern Bank and created by The Yours Truly (parent company of The Marvel Be You, a pioneer influencer marketing platform).

EBL Deputy Managing Director and Head of Retail and SME Banking M. Khorshed Anowar, and M. Jahangir Alam, Chairman of The Yours Truly signed an agreement to this effect in Dhaka recently.

The Yours Truly Managing Director Mahzabin Ferdous and Chief Executive Officer Breity Sabrin; EBL Head of Cards Tasnim Hussain, Head of Corporate Cards Sales and Alliance, Md. Sayem Mosthafa, Acting Head of Digital Marketing Syed Ahasanur Karim Antor were present among others on the occasion.
