Election of Executive Council of American Alumni Association held

The election of the Executive Council of American Alumni Association (AAA) for the term 2025 - 2026 was held on December 11, 2024.

The Association has elected Mr. Sharif Zahir, Managing Director, Ananta Group & Chairman, United Commercial Bank PLC, as the President of AAA, according to a media release. 

Ms. Nishat N. Hamid, Director - Shasha Garments Ltd. & EOS Textile Mills Ltd., and Ms. Labiba Anika Wahab, Assistant Director at A. Wahab & Co. Chartered Accountants, were elected as the Secretary and Treasurer, respectively. Mr. Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmed, CEO, American Bangladesh Center for Development Excellence (ABCDE), and Mr. Syed Ishtiaq Alam, Director, Ananta Group, were elected as Members of the EC.

The AAA Election 2024 was held with an Election Commission formed with eminent professionals and highly esteemed AAA Members.

The Election Commissioners were Dr. A T M Shamsul Huda (Chief Election Commissioner), Prof. Dr. M.S.A. Mansur Ahmed and Ms. Begum Mahmuda.

The American Alumni Association of Bangladesh (AAA) is an association of graduates of American colleges and universities.

The Organization seeks to promote fellowship among American graduates, to assist its members to develop careers that use their abilities and education, and to maintain a database of skills that can be furnished to domestic and international users.

AAA also manages computer-based testing center in Dhaka for students taking TOEFL, GRE and U.S. Medical Licensing Examinations for applying to American universities, the release adds.
