Faria Yasmin named first Bangladeshi and female MD of Bata Bangladesh

Bata Shoe Company (Bangladesh) Limited has named Faria Yasmin as its new managing director, according to a statement issued on Monday evening.

Faria Yasmin will be the first female managing director in the history of the company. Besides, she is also the first Bangladeshi to be named to lead the Bangladesh operations of the multinational footwear giant.

Before the announcement of the new appointment, Faria Yasmin was the chief business officer at ACI Foods Limited, ACI Flour Limited and ACI Edible Oils Limited.

According to the statement, Faria Yasmin, who has more than 23 years of leadership experience in business operations in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, will officially take the charge on November 20, 2025, to replace Debabrata Mukherjee.

The current managing director, Debabrata Mukherjee, is quitting Bata Shoe Company (Bangladesh) Limited to join another multinational firm as managing director.

As a listed company in the stock market, the company also informed the investors about the upcoming change in its leadership.
