FBCCI election schedule to be announced following appointment of administrator

The election schedule of the Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) will be announced soon after the appointment of a new administrator.

Member Secretary of FBCCI Reform Council Md Zakir Hossain disclosed the development at a press briefing held at the apex trade body's office at Motijheel in the city following a fruitful meeting with incumbent administrator of the FBCCI Abdur Rahim Khan on Sunday.

He said they have taken several other decisions that include that the next FBCCI administrator will be from the business community and there must be a compulsory discussion between the FBCCI Reform Council and the administrator regarding changes of some clauses of Trade Organisation Rules, 2025.

"We want a new administration for the business community," said Md Zakir Hossain.

He further said that the annual registration fee for the Chamber would be Tk 40,000 from the existing Tk 100,000, while the fee for association would be cut to Tk 35,000 from Tk 75,000.
