First digital pharmacy opens at United Hospital

Health and family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim has inaugurated the country's first ever online digital pharmacy ‘uhlpharmacy.com’ at the United Hospital in Dhaka.

The pharmacy has been opened as part of the government's epoch making initiative to build Bangladesh as a digital country, keeping pace with rest of the world.

The minister said on Sunday that the people will get prescribed medicines at their doorsteps round the clock-a time befitting initiative to be followed by all others in the days to come.

Nasim said the present government has been relentlessly working to build Bangladesh as a country of rapid development on the footing of digitalisation.

He said the pharmacy is yet another example of how the government is encouraging such a pro-people step in the health sector, reports BSS.

Currently, the digital pharmacy is delivering the medicines in Gulshan, Banani, Banani DOHS, Niketon, Mohakhali, Mohakhali DOHS, Baridhara, Baridhara DOHS, Bashundhara areas of the capital city.

Major General Md Mostafizur Rahman, director general of the directorate of drug administration, was present at the opening ceremony as the special guest.

He said the online pharmacy would earn much more appreciation in course of time.

Dr Sagufa Anwar, chief of communication and business development of the United Hospital, S M Shafiuzzaman, secretary general of Bangladesh Association of Pharmaceutical Industries (BAPI), Faridur Rahman Khan, Managing Director of the United Hospital, among others, were present at the function.
