FRC Chairman Sajjad Hossain Bhuiyan joins bilateral meeting with ARCA in Singapore

Dr Md Sajjad Hossain Bhuiyan, Chairman of the Financial Reporting Council (FRC), participated in a bilateral meeting with Singapore's ACRA, which operates under the Ministry of Finance.

According to a press release, the meeting took place at ACRA's office at 55 Newton Road, #03-02 Revenue House, Singapore on Wednesday.

Representing the FRC, Mr Anik Kumar Mallick, Standard-Setting Officer of the Standards-Setting Division, was also present.

Ms Kuldip Gil, Assistant Chief Executive, led the ACRA delegation. Other members included: Ms Tan Wee Khim, Technical Director (Financial Reporting and Standards Development); Ms Ng Meow Long, Technical Director (Inspection Department); Ms Gowri Palaniappan, Deputy Technical Director (Sustainability Reporting Office); and four other officials.

The discussions covered the activities, responsibilities, and mandates of both the FRC and ACRA, with a particular focus on strengthening transparency and accountability in financial and sustainability reporting, auditing, and corporate governance frameworks.

Both parties also exchanged views on accounting and auditing standards, digital reporting systems, professional development initiatives, and areas for mutual cooperation.

Both sides expressed strong interest in future collaboration through joint initiatives, technical exchanges, and knowledge-sharing programs.

This bilateral engagement marks an important step in building a long-term cooperative relationship between FRC Bangladesh and ACRA Singapore, aimed at promoting good governance, accountability, and sustainable economic growth.
