The price of gold in Bangladesh has surged once again.
The price of the best quality gold, 22-carat, has risen by Tk 3,662 per bhori (11.664 grams), bringing the new price to Tk 174,948.
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has attributed the latest hike to a rise in the price of refined gold in the local market.
The new rate will come into effect from Wednesday, BAJUS said in a statement on Tuesday.
According to the latest tariff, 21-carat gold will be sold at Tk 167,005 per bhori, 18-carat at Tk 143,141 per bhori and traditional gold at Tk 118,460 per bhori.
