The price of gold in Bangladesh has surged once again, setting a new record.
The price of the best quality gold, 22-carat, has risen by Tk 4,713 per bhori (11.664 grams), bringing the new price to Tk 172,546.
The new price will come into effect from Tuesday, the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced on Monday, attributing the latest hike to a rise in the price of refined gold in the local market.
The revised rates for other gold categories are: 21-carat solid gold: Tk 164,696 per bhori, 18-carat gold: Tk 141,169 per bhori, and traditional gold: Tk 116,780 per bhori.
