After eight rounds of price reductions, the price of gold in the country's market is set to witness a hike on Sunday.
The price of the 22-carat gold (11.664 grams) has been increased by Tk 1,050. With this, the price of one bhori good quality gold will be sold at Tk 1,10,213, said Bangladesh Jewellers’ Association (Bajus) in a statement on Saturday.
With the new price set by the association, the price of one bhori best quality (22-carat) gold has been hiked by Tk 1,050 to Tk 1,10,213, the price of 18-carat gold by Tk 863 to Tk 90,174 and the traditional gold price by Tk 712 to Tk 74,988.
Prior to this hike, Bajus had brought down the price of gold by Tk 10,262 in total in eight consecutive phases, respectively on May 3, April 30, April 29, April 28, April 27, April 25, April 24 and April 23.
