A BTRC investigation finds that mobile operators Grameenphone, Robi and state-owned Teletalk have not met the 4G data speed benchmark in Rajshahi division.

However, call setup success rate, call drop rate and call setup time are within the benchmark on their networks, according to the quality of service (QoS) measurement revealed on Wednesday.

The telecoms regulator conducted comprehensive QoS measurement through drive test in different locations of the division from 29 August to 22 September 2021.

As per subclause 6(1)(b) of the Bangladesh Telecom-munication Regulatory Commission (ANS Operator's Quality of Service) Regulations-2018, it published the QoS drive test results of Rajshahi.

The benchmark for 4G (fourth-generation) internet download speed was decided at 7.0 Mbps.

The country's largest telecoms carrier GP's download speed was found at 4.45 Mbps while that of its biggest rival Robi at 6.28 Mbps.

On the other hand, the speed of Teletalk was found to be the lowest 2.58 Mbps.

The third-largest mobile operator Banglalink had speed above the yardstick at 7.5 Mbps.

The MOS (means opinion score) call quality in two operators was found below the BTRC benchmark.
