CHATTOGRAM: GPH, the country's top local high quality steel manufacturer, has launched B600 C-R and B600 D-R rods in the steel market.
On this occasion, a technical seminar titled 'Countries only high strength and high performing steel GPH Quantam B600 C-R & B600 D-R' was held at a hotel in the port city on Monday.
Speaking at the seminar, Strucutral Engineer Prof Dr Shamim Z Basunia said GPH Steel has taken a revolutionary step in the country's infrastructure sector by introducing B600 C-R & B600 D-R rods.
These BUET-tested high strength and high performing rods will reduce the size of the column section in building construction, increase the floor area, and the capacity of carrying permanent and chronic loads will be higher, he said.
GPH Ispat's Technical Advisor Maj Gen Abu Sayed Md. Masood (retd) said that GPH never compromises on quality. GPH Steel has an efficient and self-sufficient research and development team.
Civil engineering Professor Rakib Ahsan of BUET joined the seminar virtually.
Mohammad Jahangir Alam, Chairman and Managing Director, GPH Group, said, "We also want to collaborate with other engineering universities for research. By doing this, new technologies will be invented, the country will become prosperous and hard-earned foreign exchange will be saved."
