H&M Group, a multinational retail clothing company, has contributed books and dressmaker mannequins to the Centre of Innovation, Efficiency and Occupational Safety and Health (CIEOSH) and BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT) to support the education and skill development of Bangladesh's next generation RMG professionals.

According to a statement, books and mannequins will be essential tools for BUFT students and CIEOSH trainees as they gather knowledge and learn the necessary skills to create high-quality garments.

Ziaur Rahman, Country Manager of H&M Group, presented the books and mannequins to BGMEA President Faruque Hassan at the BGMEA Complex in the capital's Uttara area on Tuesday.

BGMEA Vice President Miran Ali was present on occasion.

"Education is the key to further increasing diversification and enabling a sustainable transition for the RMG sector. From H&M Group, we believe in the strength of cooperation and collaboration with our industry partners, and we are glad that we could make this contribution to BUFT and its students," said Ziaur Rahman.

"Bangladesh's RMG industry is pursuing a vision of sustainable growth where our key focus is on the transition from volume to value and quantity to quality," BGMEA president said, adding innovation, technological upgradation, environmental sustainability, productivity enhancement, and skill development are the RMG industry's key priorities.

Thanking H&M, one of the largest buyers of local ready-made garments, he said it demonstrated the company's commitment to supporting the education and skill development of the next generation of RMG professionals.

By establishing CIEOSH, BGMEA aims to support the RMG industry with knowledge, skills and technical know-how to face future challenges.
