IBCF holds meeting to review Islamic Banking Act-2024

A meeting of the Islamic Banks Consultative Forum (IBCF) was held on 10 November 2024, Sunday.

Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Chairman of the Islamic Banks Consultative Forum (IBCF) and First Security Islami Bank PLC presided over the meeting, according to a press release. 

The meeting discussed in detail the proposed draft of the Islamic Banking Act-2024 published by Bangladesh Bank. It was decided that IBCF will submit necessary recommendations on the proposed act after a thorough study on this issue. 

The meeting was attended among others by Mohammed Nurul Amin, Chairman, Global Islami Bank, Khwaja Shahriar, Chairman, Al-Arafah Islami Bank, Md. Fariduddin Ahmad, Chairman, Union Bank, Md. Obayed Ullah Al Masud, Chairman, Islami Bank Bangladesh, A K M Nurul Fazal Bulbul, Convener, Seminar Committee of IBCF, Nurul Islam Khalifa, Chairman, Executive Committee, Global Islami Bank, Md. Abdur Rahman Sarker, Chairman Audit Committee, Jamuna Bank, Mohammad Monirul Moula, Managing Director, Islami Bank Bangladesh, Mohammad Feroz Hossain, Managing Director, Export Import Bank of Bangladesh, Syed Waseque Md. Ali, Managing Director, First Security Islami Bank and Jahangir Alam, Assistant secretary, IBCF.
