A memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) and the Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB)) was signed at CA Bhaban in Dhaka city on Monday.
The objective of this MoU is to provide access of the Document Verification System (DVS) to the ICB to verify audited financial statements of different entities. This collaboration with ICB would bring financial discipline in the country, according to a press release.
ICAB President Mohammed Forkan Uddin FCA, Vice President MBM Lutful Hadee FCA, Vice President Maria Howlader FCA, Vice President Md Johirul Islam FCA, past President & Council Member Kamrul Abedin FCA, Council Members NKA Mobin FCA, Fouzia Haque FCA, Md Yasin Miah FCA and CEO Shubhashish Bose FCA, among others, spoke at the event.
ICB Managing Director Md Abul Hossain and ICAB CEO Shubhashish Bose signed the MoU. Higher officials of ICB and ICAB including COO Mahbub Ahmed Siddique FCA were also present.
Under this MoU, ICAB will provide necessary assistance in verifying the authenticity of the audited financial reports filed with ICB.
ICB will use this DVS to check whether the audit report and audited financial statements of Mutual Trust Fund & other companies certified by ICAB's CoP Holder Chartered Accountants.
