ICMAB hosts Strategic HR Meet to foster collaboration for economic growth and synergy in corporate sector

The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) organized the “ICMAB HR Meet: An Evening with Our HR Colleagues” on February 16, 2025, at the Lakeshore Grand Hotel, Dhaka.

The event aimed to strengthen collaboration between HR professionals and Cost & Management Accountants (CMAs), focusing on how this cooperation can drive organizational success and contribute to national economic development, according to a media release. 

Over 150 HR leaders from diverse industries attended the event, where they discussed the strategic role CMAs play in enhancing business performance and sustainability.

The event also emphasized the importance of empowering young professionals with career opportunities, thus promoting long-term growth across Bangladesh’s industries.

Mr. Mahtab Uddin Ahmed FCMA, President of ICMAB, presided over the session.

In his speech, he emphasized ICMAB's commitment to providing a world-class curriculum for students and ensuring that its members, who hold leadership positions in both domestic and international organizations, are globally recognized.

He urged HR leaders to hire local, talented CMA professionals, recognizing the competitive advantage and cost optimization it brings to organizations, which is crucial for driving long-term organizational sustainability.

The event also featured the participation of ICMAB's Past President Mr. Mohammed Salim FCMA, Secretary Mr. Hasnain Thoufiq Ahmed FCMA, and Council Member Mr. Mohammed Jahangir Alam FCMA. Mr. Roomee Tareque Moudud FCMA, Chairman of the Placement Committee, welcomed the participants and delivered a presentation on the role of CMAs in enhancing business performance.

Mr. Md. Zillur Rahman FCMA, Vice Chairman of the Placement Committee of ICMAB, delivered the vote of thanks.

Eminent HR leaders from various organizations, including icddr'b, Aamra Group, X-Index Group, Aristopharma Ltd., Bio-Pharma, Square Group, Dhaka Bank, Bengal Commercial Bank, Akij Group, TK Group, Bata Shoe Co. Ltd., BRAC Enterprises, and others, participated in the event.

Several HR professionals highly praised the role of CMAs in their respective organizations and emphasized the importance of closer collaboration between HR leaders and ICMAB members to foster synergies in the corporate world.

They also stressed the need for organizing such events in the future and even expressed interest in hosting similar events themselves.

The System Analyst demonstrated the ICMAB Employment Gateway to the participants, showcasing its potential as a valuable resource for both employers and job seekers.

The event successfully demonstrated the positive impact of collaboration between HR professionals and CMAs, reinforcing the role of CMAs in shaping the future of the corporate sector and contributing to sustainable economic development in Bangladesh, the release adds.
