IIDFC holds 24th AGM; Janata Bank’s DMD Md Fayaz Alam elected as IIDFC Chairman

Mr. Md Fayaz Alam, Deputy Managing Director of Janata Bank PLC., has been elected as the new Chairman of IIDFC PLC.

The Board of Directors elected him during the company’s 24th Annual General Meeting (AGM), held on Wednesday, December 10, at IIDFC’s Head Office, according to a media release. 

Mr. Md Fayaz Alam is a Director of IIDFC and a distinguished senior banker of the country. With an accomplished career spanning more than two decades, he has made significant contributions to the banking industry. His professional journey began in 1998 as a Senior Officer at Rupali Bank PLC. In April 2024, he joined Janata Bank PLC as Deputy Managing Director.

Throughout his extensive career, Mr. Alam has gained expertise across a wide range of banking domains, including Human Resources, Corporate Banking, Consumer Banking, International Business, Premium Banking, Retail Banking, SME Banking, Compliance, Credit Administration, Research & Planning, Reconciliation, Card Division, Legal Affairs, Engineering Division, Audit & Inspection, Monitoring Division, and Sustainable Finance.

Mr. Alam holds both Graduate and Postgraduate degrees in Bangla from the University of Dhaka and has demonstrated outstanding academic excellence. He also successfully completed an M.Phil. degree from the same university. 

He has participated in various professional training programs and workshops both at home and abroad, the release adds.
