Imtiaz Ibne Sattar has been appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Summit Corporation Ltd (SCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Singapore-based Summit Power International Limited (SPI), the largest independent power producer and a key LNG infrastructure operator in Bangladesh.
In his new role, Imtiaz will lead the unified finance team at Summit Corporation, focusing on project financing, risk management, and engagement with investors, financiers, and regulatory authorities. He will report directly to the Board of Directors of SCL and SPI’s senior leadership team, according to a press release.
Imtiaz brings a diverse portfolio of financial leadership spanning banking, healthcare, and energy. He served as CFO of Standard Chartered Bank, Bangladesh, for over eight years, managing a USD 4 billion balance sheet while maintaining a 13% CET1 ratio and a AAA credit rating.
In 2016, he transitioned into the healthcare sector in Canada as Director and COO of Golden Oak Care, where he oversaw corporatization, business planning, and investor engagement. Later, he joined Scotiabank as project team lead for a regulatory risk model overseeing CAD 260 billion in retail assets. Before his current role, he also worked as a tax consultant in Toronto.
Imtiaz holds an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka, and completed executive education at INSEAD, Singapore. Beyond his corporate career, he has volunteered, including teaching financial literacy at JAAGO Foundation and supporting breast cancer awareness initiatives in Canada.
He has a personal interest in football, world history, economic trends, and wildlife conservation.
