Imtiaz Uddin Ahmed promoted to Additional Managing Director of Shahjalal Islami Bank

Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC has recently announced the promotion of Mr Imtiaz U Ahmed to the position of Additional Managing Director.

Mr Ahmed’s promotion recognises his significant contributions to the bank in different areas of business and operations, according to a media release. 

He has extensive experience and knowledge in a wide range of banking functions, including Corporate Banking, Export Financing, Risk Management, Investment Administration, Internal Control & Compliance, Human Resources, Treasury Management and Branch Banking. Notably, he has been instrumental in strengthening the bank’s presence in Corporate & Export finance focusing on performance optimisation.

Mr Ahmed has 25 years of long professional experience in the banking sector, particularly in Shahjalal Islami Bank and Eastern Bank PLC.

Prior to joining the bank, he also worked at Chittagong Stock Exchange and KPMG Rahman Rahman Huq (under ICAB).

He obtained a postgraduate degree in finance and accounting. Mr Ahmed also participated in numerous professional development programmes both at home and abroad.
