GUWAHATI: An export consignment carrying 2,283 metric tonnes of Gasoil (Diesel) was dispatched by Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) to Bangladesh.

NRL plans to export 3 more rakes during October to meet the requirements of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation(bpc).

According to the company, NRL’s Marketing Terminal in Siliguri on Wednesday dispatched the consignment, according to a report by economictimes.indiatimes.com.

The railway rake will travel via Radhikapur( India)- Birol( Bangladesh) border to be unloaded at Parbatipur Depot of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation.

This is the fourth Railway rake dispatch of HSD to Bangladesh since 2016 and is the outcome of multiple discussions and an affirmative relationship between the two governments; in sync with the ‘Neighbourhood First Policy’ of Government of India to boost bilateral trade between the two countries and sub-regional cooperation within SAARC.

According to NRL the dispatch follows the high profile flag off of a goodwill rake containing 2284 MT of HSD from NRL’s Siliguri Marketing Terminal to Bangladesh on April 8, 2017 by the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina through remote device from New Delhi.
