The Indian government has cancelled a transhipment facility that enabled Bangladesh to use Indian land customs stations to export cargo to third countries.
The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs of India issued a notification on Tuesday in this regard, according to India-based news portals.
The board stated that it had rescinded its earlier circular dated June 29, 2020, in respect of the “transhipment of export cargo from Bangladesh to third countries through Land Customs Stations (LCSs) to ports or airports in containers or closed-bodied trucks.”
The facility was introduced in June 2020 under which Bangladesh used to export products to countries such as Bhutan, Nepal and Myanmar.
