India's postal department has announced the resumption of all postal services to the United States from October 15.

The federal ministry of communications on Tuesday said the postal department has established a compliant mechanism for Delivery Duty Paid processing after extensive system development and coordination with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), reports Xinhua.

According to the ministry, under this new arrangement, all applicable customs duties on shipments to the United States will be collected upfront in India at the time of booking and remitted directly to CBP through approved qualified parties.

"This ensures full regulatory compliance, faster customs clearance, and seamless delivery to addressees in the United States without any additional duty or delay," the statement further said.

India's postal department suspended the services to the United States on Aug. 25, citing changes in U.S. customs rules following an executive order issued by the US administration.

The suspension of postal services came against the backdrop of escalating trade tensions between the United States and India.
