High Commission of India, has recently opened the 16th (Sixteenth) Indian Visa Application Centre (IVAC) in Bangladesh, managed by State Bank of India, at Kushtia Zilla Samity Building.
It will provide the facility to all eligible Bangladeshi Nationals of the area to seamlessly apply for Indian Visa, said a press release.
Previously, the applicants of the area had to travel long distance to Jessore or Rajshahi for applying Indian Visa.
At the ceremony held on this occasion, Shri Pranay Verma, High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh inaugurated the IVAC in presence of Mahbubul Alam Hanif, MP, Bangladesh National Parliament, Sadar Uddin Khan, Chairman, Kushtia Zilla Parishad, Shri Manoj Kumar, Assistant High Commissioner of India, Rajshahi and Shri Sumanta Ghosh, CEO SBI Dhaka and Chief Operating Officer, IVAC.
On this occasion, High Commissioner of India has expressed his happiness that the Visa Application Centre is now opened in Kushtia with better amenities for visa applicants, which is an important step in the direction for promoting better linkages between the India and Bangladesh and also improving people to people connect.
State Bank of India, a Fortune 500 company and one of the leading Global Banks, is managing IVACs in Bangladesh on behalf of High Commission of India.
IVAC Dhaka, situated at Jamuna Future Park is the world’s largest visa application centre. Shri Amit Kumar, Country Head, SBI Bangladesh expressed that SBI is committed to enhance IVAC services throughout Bangladesh.
