Growth of industrial term loans slowed down in the first nine months of the past fiscal year.
Statistics available with Bangladesh Bank showed that disbursement of industrial credit registered a modest 4.60 per cent in July-March period of FY18.
During the period, banks and financial institutions disbursed Tk 506.26 billion as industrial term loans.
The amount was Tk 484.03 billion in the same period of FY17.
In fact, disbursement of industrial credit dropped in the third quarter (Q3) of the past fiscal year to Tk 169.79 billion from Tk 178.81 billion in Q2 of FY18.
The disbursed amount of industrial term loans stood at Tk 157.66 billion in Q1 of the past fiscal year.
Total outstanding amount of the industrial term loans stood at Tk 1913.92 billion at the end of March this year.
