Int'l expos on building constructions, woodworking technology begin in city

The three-day duel international trade shows on Building & Construction and Wood & Woodworking Technology kicked off at International Convention City, Bashundhara (ICCB) in the city on Thursday.

ASK Trade & Exhibitions Pvt Ltd & Futurex Trade Fairs & Events Pvt Ltd organised these expos titled - Fifth edition Bangladesh BUILDCON International Expo 2019 and Fifth International JAT Presents Bangladesh WOOD 2019.

A total of 250 exhibitors from 10 countries will display over 3000 products including, equipment, machinery and technology related to building and construction, roadways  along with woodworking machinery for furniture production, hardware and tools, fittings and fixtures, laminates, boards, coating, abrasives  and adhesives for the benefit of the woodworking and furniture sector of the country.

The two tradeshows will focus on architecture, building  and construction showcasing materials, products, tools and machinery, and technology for the woodworking and furniture sector of Bangladesh.

Bishwadip Dey, Deputy Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka, inaugurated the expos as the chief guest this morning.

Engineer A N M Enayet Ullah, Superintendent Engineer of Local Government Engineering Department;  Mr. Md. Abu Yousuf  Chairman Furniture Sector Industry Skills Council Limited;  Mr. K.M. Akhtaruzzaman, Chairman of Bangladesh Furniture Exporters Associations; Prem Anveshi, Managing Director of   Futurex Trade Fair and Events Private Limited; Nanda Gopal, Director, and Tipu Sultan Bhuiyan, Managing Director of ASK Trade & Exhibitions Private Limited, were also present in the inauguration ceremony.

 "Bangladesh WOOD is the only tradeshow being organised by us in the country focused towards Woodworking and Furniture Sector of the country enabling the sector to modernise and improving productivity and quality with exposure to the machinery, equipment, tools, materials being showcased by international exhibitors,” said Tipu Sultan Bhuiyan, Managing Director of ASK Trade & Exhibitions, the organizers of the event along with Futurex Trade Fairs & Events Pvt Ltd.

“Similarly our shows focus on bringing global technology and materials close to the door steps of local manufacturers be it in the Furniture sector or the Building & Construction sector of the country," he added.

 International leading companies from China, India, Turkey, Hong Kong, USA, Sri Lanka, Austria, Malaysia, Italy and Bangladesh will take part at the shows.

The shows will remain open between 11:00am to 8:00pm every day. Entry is free for all.
