Islami Bank Barishal Zone holds agent banking conference

Barishal Zone of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC organized Agent Banking Business Development Conference and Workshop on Prevention of Money Laundering & Terrorist Financing on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Zilla Model Mosque & Islamic Cultural Center in Barishal.

Mohammad Khurshid Wahab, chairman, executive committee of the bank graced the program as the chief guest, according to a media release. 

Md. Altaf Hossain, additional managing director of the bank addressed the program as special guest.

A. K. M. Mahbub Morshed, head of Development Wing, presided over the program while Abul Laise Mohd. Khaled, head of Agent Banking Division, Md. Saroar Hossain, head of Barishal Zone and Shuaib Ahmed, senior vice president of the bank also addressed the program.

Head of branches and proprietors of the agent banking outlets under Barishal Zone attended the conference.

Mohammad Khurshid Wahab, said in his speech as chief guest that Islami Bank has already overcome all obstacles and has turned around with pride.

"Islami Bank Agent Banking is now at the doorstep of the mass people. The highest level of honesty and sincerity must be demonstrated in providing customer service."

He urged agent owners to conduct banking activities in accordance with Bangladesh Bank and Shariah principles, the release adds.
