The inauguration of Islami Bank Central Laboratory has taken place at Paltan in Dhaka recently.
Professor Dr Kazi Shahidul Alam, Chairman of the Islami Bank Foundation and Director of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC, inaugurated the lab as the chief guest.
Dr Mohammad Saleh Jahur, Vice Chairman of the Foundation, Dr Tanveer Ahmad, Vice Chairman of the bank and the Chairman of the Foundation Executive Committee, Md Quamrul Hasan, Chairman of IBF Hospital Committee, and IBF member Abu Sayeed Mohammad Quasem were among the special guests.
Welcome speeches were delivered by Mohammad Ali, the acting Executive Director of the Foundation, and Dr Mozammel Hossain Khan, IBF Training Co-coordinator, and Superintendent of Islami Bank Hospital Nayapaltan.
The event was chaired by Prof Dr Tarek Al Nasir, senior consultant and director of Central Lab. Specialist consultants, senior executives and officials of the Islami Bank Foundation were also present.
The laboratory is equipped with modern machinery operational for 24 hours.
During the event, it was announced that Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC debit, credit, Khidmah cardholders and Celfin users would receive a 45 per cent discount on lab tests and a 40 per cent discount on radiology and imaging tests in the Islami Bank hospitals.
The chief guest stated in his speech, "Our duty is to conserve foreign currency in the country and provide all patients with dependable pathology services."
