Mahbub Alam promoted to BB director

Additional Director of Bangladesh Bank (BB) Mohammad Mahbub Alam, who is working at the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU), has recently been promoted to director of the central bank.

He started off his career at the Bangladesh Bank as an Assistant Director in 1999. He worked at the Forex Reserve and Treasury Management departments of the bank before being posted at the BFIU in 2010, said a press release.

Mr Alam did his Honours and Master's degree in economics from Jahangirnagar University. He also attended a special course titled 'International Diploma on Macroeco-nomic Modeling & Forecasting' conducted by UNDESA.
