Md Hanif Mia new director of Karmasangsthan Bank

Mr. Md. Hanif Miah, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank has been appointed as the Director of the Board of Directors of the Karmasangsthan Bank.

He was appointed as director for three years by notification dated 15 October 2024 of the Ministry of Finance, Financial Institutions Division, according to a press release. 

Mr. Md. Hanif started his career as Assistant Director in Bangladesh Bank, Barishal Office at Internal Audit Department and Staff section with successfully completion a nine-month Foundation Training on 20 August 1996. He returned Agriculture Credit Inspection Department in 1999 at Head Office.

During his tenure, he served in various important departments including Internal Audit and Inspection Department, Department of Financial Institutions (DFI), Equity and Entrepreneurship Fund Unit (EEFU) of Bangladesh Bank.

Promoted to General Manager (GM) in 2020 and worked in Integrated Supervision Management Department (ISMD) and Bangladesh Bank, Khulna office.He has been serving as Executive Director (ED) of BBTA since July 8, 2024.

With the prior permission of Bangladesh Bank, he worked as a visiting faculty in a couple of private universities (7 University and one institute) from November, 2005 to March, 2020, where he taught different subjects like Financial Intuitions and Market, Financial Management, Money and Banking and other allied subjects in the area of “Financia& Banking” in evening MBA/ EMBA program.

Mr. Md. Hanif Miah was born on 25^th March 1969 in a respectable Muslim Family. He earned his MBA from Northern University Bangladesh. He completed M.Sc in Applied Chemistry & Chemical Technology from the University of Dhaka. He is also a deployed associate of IBB.
