Md Moniruzzaman joins IIFC as managing director

Mr. Md. Moniruzzaman, joined as the Managing Director of Infrastructure Investment Facilitation Company (IIFC) on Sunday, 20 July 2025.

Prior to that, he served as Chairman and CEO of Bangladesh Steel and Engineering Corporation, a renowned government corporation under the Ministry of Industries, for the period of 13 April 2023-29 December 2024, according to a media release.  

He joined the Bangladesh Civil Service (Administration) in 1993 after the completion of Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Dhaka. He also accomplished MBA (Finance) degree from the University of Dhaka in 2008.

Mr. Moniruzzaman got different professional trainings from internationally renowned universities like, University of Wolverhampton, UK, Macquarie University, Australia and Institutes like-SIDA, Sweden, SDS, India, Civil Service College, Singapore, KOICA, South Korea, Crown Agent, UK, Chinese Academy of Governance, China, in the field of Top-Level Administration and Management, Governance and SDG, Decentralized Governance, Public Finance Management, Green Business Development, Low Carbon Circular Economy etc.

He also successfully completed different senior level training courses on Development Administration like, ACAD, Senior Staff Course from BPATC, Savar, Dhaka, Budget Management Specialist Course from IFM, Project Management Course from NAPD, Dhaka.

He has 32 years’ experience in Public Administration of which 08 years in the field level and 24 years in policy level job. He worked in the Local Govt. Division, MoLGRD & Cooperatives, Ministry of Labor, Ministry Expatriates Welfare and Overseas Employment, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Public Administration, Bridges Division, Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Finance Division, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.

In the field level, he worked as Assistant Commissioner, AC (Land) UNO and ADC. He also worked as Deputy Project Director (Finance and Admin) in a World Bank Financed Project for BBS.

Mr. Moniruzzaman is interested to work in the field of Environment and Climate Change, Economic Policy, Economic Development and Planning, Development Administration, Change Management, Corporate Governance and Public Private Partnership Management, the release adds.
