Midland Bank PLC has promoted Md Nazmul Huda Sarkar to the position of Deputy Managing Director (DMD), effective from January 1, 2026, according to a media statement Wednesday.
Prior to this promotion, Md Nazmul Huda Sarkar served as Senior Executive Vice President (SEVP) and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the bank.
Sarkar has more than 27 years of professional experience and has been involved in strategic planning, digital transformation and service delivery, with a focus on security and cost efficiency.
Earlier in his career, Md Nazmul Huda Sarkar held various leadership and engineering roles in Bangladesh and Japan. He worked at Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB) and was involved in the bank’s transition to a new digital platform. He also worked in Japan as a Senior Application Engineer at Match.com. In addition, he gained professional experience with organisations in Japan, including Fujitsu and Nissan Motor, and in Bangladesh with IDLC Finance PLC and National Life Insurance, building experience in enterprise technology, digital channels and large-scale service delivery.
As CTO, Sarkar was responsible for developing and implementing the bank’s technology roadmap, strengthening enterprise platforms and digital channels, and enhancing operational resilience through secure and scalable technology initiatives.
Nazmul Huda Sarkar completed his BSc (Hons) and MSc in Electronics and Computer Science from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Sylhet.
