ME airspace closure cancels 11 int’l flights at Ctg airport

CHATTOGRAM, Mar 04: At least 11 international flights have been cancelled at Shah Amanat International Airport on Wednesday as several major Middle Eastern airfields remain closed amid ongoing regional tensions.

According to a press bulletin issued by the airport authorities, airfields in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Doha have remained shut, disrupting regular flight operations between Bangladesh and the Middle East.

Among the cancelled arrivals were two flights operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, one by US-Bangla Airlines and three flights of Air Arabia.

On the departure side, one Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight, one US-Bangla Airlines flight and three Air Arabia flights.

Despite the disruptions, several international flights operated as scheduled during the morning.

A SalamAir flight (OV-401) arriving from Muscat landed at the airport at 7:55 am and departed again for Muscat as flight OV-402 at 9:00 am after boarding passengers.
