Meghna Bank signs Participation Agreement with BB for Startup Refinance Scheme

Recently, with a view to fostering an innovation-led entrepreneurial ecosystem, Meghna Bank PLC has signed a Participation Agreement with Bangladesh Bank under the Startup Refinance Scheme.
The signing ceremony was graced by Ms. Nurun Nahar, Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank, as the chief guest, according to a press release.
Mr. Momtazul Karim N Ahmed, Deputy Managing Director of Meghna Bank PLC, led the bank’s delegation at the program, reaffirming the Bank’s commitment to providing tailored financing solutions to the SME sector.
The ceremony was further dignified by the presence of Ms. Husne Ara Shikha, Executive Director, Mr. Nawshad Mustafa, Director, SME & Special Programmes Department (SMESPD) and other senior officials of Bangladesh Bank.
The Meghna Bank representatives included Mohammad Sohel Miah, SEVP & Head of SME Banking; Md. Shahabuddin, Head of Branch SME & Agri Banking; and Md. Shaidur Rahman, Head of Micro & Small Business.
Under this scheme, eligible start-ups will be able to access credit facilities at concessional interest rates, providing the necessary financial impetus for innovative and scalable ventures.
This partnership underscores Meghna Bank’s strategic focus on nurturing high-potential entrepreneurs who are expected to contribute significantly to sustainable economic growth of the country.
