With calls to bridge the digital knowledge gap and encourage export-focused ventures, MIDAS celebrated International MSME Day 2025 by rallying women entrepreneurs and other stakeholders under one roof.

From trade fair announcements to AI readiness, the event aimed to strengthen grassroots entrepreneurship-particularly for youth-across the country.

MIDAS organised the International Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Day 2025 at the MIDAS Centre in the city's Dhanmandi area on Thursday.

Ms. Parveen Mahmud FCA, chairman of the MIDAS board of directors, presided over the session.

Mr. M. Khairul Bashar, managing director of MIDAS, along with other MIDAS officials and delegates from NGOs and private organisations, also attended the programme.

Over 60 promising and established entrepreneurs actively exchanged their views and thoughts on sustainable growth and collaboration in the celebration.

Speaking at the event, Parveen Mahmud extensively discussed the needs of entrepreneurs in the changing business landscape.

She emphatically highlighted the support required from different stakeholders active in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, such as government agencies, financial institutions, and business associations.

Parveen highlighted the existing knowledge gap and the lack of technical expertise among entrepreneurs, particularly in the area of artificial intelligence (AI).

M. Khairul Bashar spoke about the importance of providing training in e-commerce and digital marketing, especially for women entrepreneurs, to help them adapt to the evolving business landscape.

Bashar also encouraged youth and women entrepreneurs to focus more on export-oriented ventures to expand their market reach and contribute to the national economy.

Among the esteemed speakers are renowned fashion designer Ms. Bibi Russel, Ms. Sabina Alam, and Dr. S. M. Akbar, members of the MIDAS Board.
