Women entrepreneurs pose with their awards at the closing ceremony of 'MIDAS SME Fair 2024' held at the MIDAS Centre in the city on Saturday.

The three-day "MIDAS SME FAIR 2024" ended on Saturday, with six small and medium, enterprises (SMEs) receiving accolades for their outstanding performance.

The concluding event was held at the MIDAS Centre in the city’s Dhnmondi area.

A total of 62 women and youth entrepreneurs participated in the fair and sold clothes, jewellery, fresh foods and other handicraft items.

The awards were distributed to selected entrepreneurs under the categories of best seller, best green products, best local products, best organic food, best startup, best-diversified leather, and best innovative products.

Zahida Ispahani, Chairperson, MIDAS Board of Directors, and Parveen Mahmud, Director, MIDAS Board, Members of MIDAS Board of Directors, Khairul Bashar, Managing Director of MIDAS, Md. Ibrahim Hossain, Assistant General Manager of MIDAS, senior government officials, representatives of NGOs, and other guests were present in the closing programme.

Khati Krishi has received two awards under two different categories: best seller and best organic food producers, while the Best Green Products Producer awarded to M/S Boyon, Best Local Products Producer to Cumilla Heritage, Best Startup to Long Spring, Best Diversified Leather Products to Herald Traders, Best Employment Creation and Innovations to Te Ronga.

Zahida Ispahani, Chairperson, MIDAS Board of Directors, stressed the need for diversification and innovation in manufacturing products.

She said the world has been changing very fast and entrepreneurs should think about changes before making products.

She also said MIDAS will sit with entrepreneurs and discuss these issues after Eid to find a best way out.

Founder of Chakuri Khujbo Na, Chakri Debo Munir Hasan said they train and encourage young entrepreneurs to begin entrepreneurship.
