Midland Bank PLC held its Annual Agent Banking Conference 2025 at Lake Shore Hotel in the Gulshan area of Dhaka on Saturday.
Md. Ahsan-uz Zaman, Managing Director and CEO of the bank, presided over the conference. Agent owners and representatives of all the 140 agent banking Centres of the bank participated in the daylong conference.
Mr. Ahsan Khan Chowdhury, sponsor and director of the Midland Bank and chairman of PRAN-RFL Group, also attended the conference.
Amongst others, Md. Zahid Hossain, Deputy Managing Director; Javed Tarek Khan, Head of Institutional Banking Division; members of the Midland Bank Agent Banking Rollout Committee; divisional heads; head of branches; and business development officers of agent banking centres were also present on the occasion.
During the ceremony, a doa seeking divine blessings of almighty Allah for the welfare, progress, and prosperity of the bank’s agent banking and the country as well was held.
A prize-giving ceremony was also held at the end of the conference. The bank distributed crests and certificates among the top performers in different categories.
Midland Bank launched its first agent banking centre at Tarabo in Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj on January 23 in 2017 to take modern banking services to the unbanked masses. Currently the bank operates 140 agent banking centres in 29 districts and 71 upazillas across the country.
