Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems changes name to Mitsubishi Power

Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems, a major subsidiary of the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) Group, officially changed its corporate name to Mitsubishi Power from Tuesday.
The rebrand marks the start of an exciting new chapter in the company’s mission to solve the foremost energy challenges of our time, including decarbonising energy and bringing reliable power to people all over the world.
Mitsubishi Power will capitalise on existing investments in emerging energy solutions, such as hydrogen, ammonia and solar power, to address the diverse and increasingly complex energy needs of customers around the world.
As part of this update, Mitsubishi Power has also appointed Osamu Ono as the Managing Director and CEO of the Asia Pacific region.
Ono assumed the position on April 1, 2020, at Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. (MHPS-AP), and he continues to helm the regional business after the company’s rebrand to Mitsubishi Power September 1.
Based at the regional headquarters in Singapore, Ono will oversee the planning and execution of the company’s business growth strategies across key markets such as Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
He is committed to delivering solutions, enabling energy security, and continued economic development for countries in the region as they transition to cleaner power systems.
