Mohammad Hasan Arif new Vice-Chairman of EPB

Mohammad Hasan Arif, Additional Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh, has been appointed as the new Vice-Chairman of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB). He officially assumed office on September 15, 2025.

Before this appointment, Mr. Arif held several key positions at the Economic Relations Division (ERD), including serving as Wing Chief of both the Administration & Middle East Wing and the America & Japan Wing. He also worked as Commercial Counsellor at the Embassy of Bangladesh in Tokyo and represented the country as the Alternate Governor at the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB).

Throughout his career, Mr. Arif has played a significant role in promoting trade and investment. He has also served as a board member of several notable institutions, including the Bangladesh Islamic Solidarity Education Waqf (IsDB-BISEW), the Institute of Public Finance (IPF) Bangladesh, and the SME Foundation.

Mr. Arif joined the Bangladesh Civil Service through the 18th BCS Administration Cadre in 1999 and has held various positions in field administration as well as in different government ministries and agencies.

A Certified Public-Private Partnership Professional (CP3P), Mr. Arif brings extensive expertise in export promotion, trade facilitation, and investment development. His leadership is expected to further strengthen EPB’s efforts to boost Bangladesh’s export performance.

Speaking to The Financial Express, Mr. Arif said, “The government has entrusted me with the responsibility of facilitating exporters to diversify their markets. I hope to achieve this goal with the support of all stakeholders, including government agencies and the private sector.”

He expressed confidence that his previous experience would help him better serve exporters and drive growth in Bangladesh’s export sector.
