Mr. Kaiser A. Chowdhury elected as Chairman of AB Bank

Mr. Kaiser A. Chowdhury, Board of AB Bank PLC, has been elected in its 813th board meeting as the Chairman of the Board.

Mr. Chowdhury is an iconic banker with years of experience as CEO and Board Member of several Banks and Financial Institutions, according to a press release.

He started his career with ANZ Grindlays Bank in 1975 and worked for over 24 years in key positions before joining One Bank as CEO from 1999 to 2004 and then to AB Bank from 2005 to 2012. Later, he joined as CEO of Meghna Bank.

Mr. Chowdhury also worked in different capacities in GSP Finance Company (Bangladesh Limited) and Bangladesh International Arbitration Centre (BIAC).

Mr. Chowdhury also served as an Independent Director at the Premier Bank PLC and as a Director at AB Bank PLC.

A writer with 50 publications, he takes keen interest in juvenile literature and has written copiously in this field. In 2013, he received the Bangla Academy Literary Award for his contribution to children's literature.

With a post graduate degree in economics from Dhaka University and extensive and diverse experience, coupled with charismatic leadership and strong reputation as a prominent figure in the financial industry will greatly benefit AB Bank.
