MTB Foundation holds program to prevent avoidable blindness in ethnic community in Kulaura

As part of its commitment towards the healthcare sector of the country, MTB Foundation, in partnership with Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute and Hospital (IIEI&H) recently organized a ‘Community Eye Health Partnership for preventing avoidable Blindness of the Ethnic Community’ in Kulaura, Moulvibazar.

According to a press release, the program was attended by Samia Chowdhury, Chief Executive Officer of MTB Foundation.

A large number of underserved people belonging to the ethnic community were provided with basic healthcare facilities including eye screening, medicine, distribution of prescription eyewear and conducting surgeries like cataract, pterygium, Dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) and Dacryocystectomy (DCT).

Constructive sessions on awareness building regarding primary eye care were also held at the eye camp. More eye camps are scheduled to be held at other regions of Sylhet Division this year.
