MTB Foundation recently inaugurated a Water Access Hub and Sanitation Facilities under the project ‘JolTorongo’ for the vulnerable community of Char Alexander in Lakshmipur, according to a press release.
The Water Access Hub is expected to modernise the access to clean & safe water, and sanitation facilities will greatly promote the dignity & privacy of the marginalised community, thus contributing to the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) and 15 (Life on Land). The project aims to cater to a large underprivileged segment of Char Alexander by resolving the region’s long-standing safe water and sanitation crisis.
The program was inaugurated by Samia Chowdhury, Chief Executive Officer and Golam Rabbani, Associate from MTB Foundation. Among others, Wahidul Islam Sikder, Director, Shepherds Bangladesh, was also present at the event.
