Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB) and its subsidiaries, MTB Capital Limited and MTB Securities Limited, express profound sorrow at the passing of Syed Manzu rElahi, the founding Chairman and current Chairman of MTB.
A distinguished entrepreneur, prominent industrialist, and philanthropist, Syed Manzur Elahi's contributions to Bangladesh's corporate sector were unparalleled.
He passed away in Singapore on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at approximately 7:30 AM (Bangladesh time), at the age of 83. (Inna Lillahiwa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun).
A trailblazer in the business landscape of Bangladesh, Syed Manzur Elahi played a pivotal role in the nation’s corporate advancement through his visionary leadership, integrity, and steadfast dedication. His exemplary professionalism and statesmanship earned him the distinguished honour of serving as an advisor to the Caretaker Government of Bangladesh on two occasions, in 1996 and 2001.
MTB extends its deepest condolences to his bereaved family, loved ones, and well-wishers during this difficult time. His memory, ideals, and contributions will remain a guiding force for future generations. The entire MTB family prays for the eternal peace of his departed soul.
His Janaza will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025, after Zuhr prayers at Gulshan Azad Mosque.
