Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB) launched its World Environment Day 2025 celebration on May 25 with a workshop on “Renewable Energy in Bangladesh: Policy Framework, Technological Innovation & Financing Opportunities.”
Syed Mahbubur Rahman, Managing Director & CEO of MTB, inaugurated the event, emphasizing the critical role of financial institutions in tackling climate change and supporting Bangladesh’s clean energy transition through awareness, innovation, and strategic financing, according to a press release.
Senior officials from Bangladesh Bank attended the event and shared insights on sustainable finance. A keynote by an industry expert shed light on clean energy policy, technology, and financing opportunities.
Following the workshop, MTB observed a week-long Energy Awareness Week from May 27 to June 2 across all branches, promoting energy efficiency, responsible consumption, and sustainable workplace practices among employees.
