MTB wins 'Most Innovative Women Empowerment Initiatives - Banking - Bangladesh 2024' award

Mutual Trust Bank (MTB) has recently been recognised for its innovative efforts to empower women in Bangladesh. The bank has received the "Most Innovative Women Empowerment Initiatives - Banking - Bangladesh 2024" award from Women's Tabloid for its flagship CSR project, "এমটিবি স্বনির্ভর অঙ্গনা," according to a press release Tuesday.

This project aims to equip underprivileged women with essential skills, financial knowledge, and resources for economic independence. A key component is a graphic design course conducted in partnership with Creative IT Institute, providing women with valuable digital skills and career prospects.

In addition, MTB's Financial Literacy and Inclusion Program targets 250 women from marginalised communities. Through workshops and digital account opening, the programme helps women join the formal financial system and improve their financial management skills.

Syed Mahbubur Rahman, MD and CEO of MTB, expressed the bank's commitment to empowering women and promoting their financial self-sufficiency. MTB remains dedicated to fostering inclusivity and creating sustainable opportunities for women in Bangladesh's evolving economy.
